Video formatWe prefer to receive Quicktime DV video files with 2 black frames before and after the edit. Resolutions: 16:9 (1024×576) or 4:3 letterbox (720×576).
For your Dolby Digital cinema projects, 24fps based video should be stretched to a 25fps Quicktime DV. Muxed or multiplexed files (like MPG) can’t be used directly in Pro Tools. Apart from converting the video, we also have to record the audio into Pro Tools in real time, which is a time consuming process. |
Audio format
It’s always a good idea to deliver set sound as well, together with a detailed soundreport. We use Apple based Pro Tools HD systems at 48kHz (AIFF). Current software version is 7.4. We can import from many media (including CD, DAT, MiniDisc, Hi8 multichannel audio DTRS, ¼” 2 track tape, 2” 16/24 track tape) and many soundformats (AIF, SD2, WAV, MP3, etc). Keep in mind that although MP3 is supported, we are not too happy using it. Nine out of ten times MP3’s sound like rubbish. |

If you have multiple versions or edits, please provide them as separate files.
For delivering sound from your video edit, we prefer to receive an OMFI file (version 2 or higher). OMFI files can be easily exported from AVID and Final Cut Pro.
